Ceramics and sanitary ware: Strontium Carbonate is used in the glazing and enameling of ceramics for tableware, reinforcing its resistance to abrasion and scratching and preventing the formation of bubbles in the frit firing process, in addition to greater brightness and presenting, in some cases, better behavior than lead, without risk of toxicity.

Pyrotechnics: Strontium carbonate is used in pyrotechnics and signaling, both for civil and military purposes. Due to the bright red color it produces on combustion, it is used in the manufacture of fireworks, flares and tracers.

Zinc electrolysis: Strontium carbonate is used to obtain high purity zinc (SHG zinc) as it removes lead impurities from the cathode, due to its affinity with lead, forming a double salt that precipitates.

Permanent magnets (hard ferrites): Strontium carbonate is used for the manufacture of ferrites, improving the coercive force and the degree of safety and efficiency in magnets used in automobile electric motors, loudspeakers, etc.

Pigments and paints: Strontium carbonate is also used in the manufacture of strontium chromate, useful as a corrosion inhibitor in primer paints.

Glass industry: Strontium carbonate is used in numerous glass applications used in optics, glassware, lighting, fiberglass, laboratory and pharmaceutical glass, etc. improving properties such as increased hardness and scratch resistance, increased gloss, ease of polishing, etc.

Chemical and Pharmaceutical Industry: Strontium Carbonate is used to remove sulfates in wastewater treatment, production of orthophosphoric acid for fluorescent lamps and cathode ray tubes to produce the three basic colors, red, green and blue, obtaining synthesis products, etc.
